Mr. Thee is the Managing Partner of Rife, Sciarani & Thee, LLP. Mr. Thee merged Bruce W Thee & Associates, LLP with Rife Sciarani & Company December 1, 2003. He formed Bruce W Thee & Associates, LLP on February 1, 1997. Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Thee was the Tax Partner-in-Charge of Grant Thornton LLP's Reno, Nevada office. He was a member of Grant Thornton LLP's Tax Advisery Committee, National Construction Committee, and was the Chairman of the Business Valuation Sub-Committee. Prior to joining Grant Thornton LLP in 1988, Mr. Thee was a tax partner with McGladrey & Pullen from 1978 to 1988.
Mr. Thee received his Bachelor of Arts degree and his Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri, and his Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Mr. Thee has been in public practice for 28 years. He spent the first two years as a staff auditor with McGladrey & Pullen. During those two years he prepared audited and unaudited financial statements for various commercial enterprises in the construction, banking, retail, wholesale, agriculture, insurance and service industries. Since then Mr. Thee has practiced primarily in taxation. Specifically, his experience includes review of federal and state returns for compliance with the tax laws, preparation and review of research memorandum, representation before federal and state taxing authorities at the local, regional and national level, preparation and review of private ruling requests, the preparation of business valuations and expert witness testimony on business valuations, tax, and accounting issues. Mr. Thee has worked with all types of organizations including individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and exempt organizations. Mr. Thee has been regularly engaged as a lecturer, speaker and writer for various commercial and public service organizations including the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants, KNPB Channel 5, KCRL Channel 4, KOH radio, the Reno Gazette, the Wall Street Journal, and Changing Times magazine.
Mr. Thee is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of Nevada. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Tax and Mangement Consulting Divisions and the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mark Smallhouse - JD Attorney at Law
Mr. Smallhouse is an principal in New Venture Attorneys, a law firm focusing on venture capital and private company financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate tax and commercial financing. Mr. Smallhouse holds a JD from the University of Arizona from which he graduated with high distinction. He began his legal career with McCutchen, Dole, Brown & Enersen a highly respected San Francisco-based national law firm. At McCutchen, Doyle, his practice was focused on representing regional and national technology clients in corporate, taxation, commercial finance and real estate matters. Thereafter, Mr. Smallhouse was a partner in a Los Altos, California law firm counseling clients on business and tax planning and commercial real estate matters. Several years ago, Mr. Smallhouse relocated from Silicon Valley to Reno, Nevada to pursue his outdoors interests including ski racing at which he competes on a national level. Mr. Smallhouse has been a frequent presenter at legal seminars on buying and selling business, exit strategy and family business issues. Mr. Smallhouse also serves as a member of the Business Law Committee of the Nevada State Bar.
